For more than 100 years the UVM Health Network - Alice Hyde Medical Center Auxiliary has had a strong presence in our community. Early members helped facilitate the initial building of the hospital and have since aided in the expansion and construction of several other buildings on the Medical Center’s campus.
What Does The Auxiliary Do?
As a member of the Auxiliary you will be a vital link between the Medical Center and the community. You will be helping us to purchase medical equipment and provide scholarships to local students pursuing a medical career. The Auxiliary is the largest outright donor to the medical center, supporting health care initiatives and services across the organization.

How Can I Join?
All adults - women and men, ages 18 and up - are eligible for membership. Annual dues are just $10. To become an Auxiliary member, download, complete, and return the membership form along with a check for your annual dues to: UVM Health Network - Alice Hyde Medical Center Auxiliary, 133 Park Street, Malone, NY 12953. You can also find us on Facebook and choose the "Sign Up" option at the top of our page.
Each year the Auxiliary offers scholarships to students who are pursuing a course of study in the health care profession, and who live in the area served by the hospital campus: Malone, Chateaugay, Brushton-Moira, Salmon River, and St. Regis Falls. The Auxiliary recognizes high school students for their academic excellence, as well as school and community activities.
The Auxiliary also helps with the distribution of one private and one Medical Center scholarship.
How Do I Apply?

First Year Students - Students starting their first year of college in a health care field are eligible for a $300 scholarship.
Continuing Education Students - Students who have successfully completed one or more years of study, and are continuing their education in health care are eligible for an $800 scholarship.
The Karen Mahoney Scholarship - A new scholarship offered this year in honor of Karen Mahoney, a very active member of the Auxiliary who passed away in 2016. CNAs or Nursing Assistants employed by UVM Health Network - Alice Hyde Medical Center who are enrolled in either an LPN or RN program and have been employed by the Medical Center for at least one year are eligible for a $1,000.00 scholarship.
Huguette MacDonald Memorial Scholarship - First Year Students pursuing a career in Nursing are eligible for a $1,000.00 scholarship.
All scholarships are presented in June of each year.
Notice of the Annual Meeting
The Auxiliary will hold its annual meeting on March 27, 2017 at 6:00 pm at the Lodge of Elks in Malone, NY. This meeting is open to all Auxiliary Members.
Seeking Two New Board Members
The Board of Directors will be elected into office by the membership at large at the annual meeting. This year we will be electing two new members into office, one of which we hope will be our Treasurer. Board Member Responsibilities
Members of the Board of Directors participate in the development of policy and major decision-making at board meetings; provide a minimum of two hours of service per month and lead one committee throughout their term while actively working to further the mission of the Medical Center.
