MALONE – University of Vermont Health Network – Alice Hyde Medical Center is now participating in the residency program at CVPH/UVM, and the medical facility is sharing the physicians’ knowledge with local students.
Two medical residents - doctors who have graduated from Medical School and are completing further training to advance in their chosen specialty – have come to Malone as part of their medicine rural rotation.
One of the residents, Dr. Aaron Esterson, a second-year resident at CVPH/UVM, has special interest in nutrition. Dr. Esterson, joined by UVM Health Network – AHMC Primary Care Physician, Dr. Dragos Banu, recently gave a presentation and discussion on Nutrition and Diabetes to students at Northern Borders Academy.
The presentation focused on prevention and management of diabetes for youth and young adults.
The physicians plan to continue their work with the students with a workshop on preparing healthy meals in under 15 minutes and for under $5.
