ADMINISTRATOR OR ASSISTANT ADMINISTRATOR AT THE ASSISTED LIVING PROGRAM (ALP) - RN POSITION

Description:

The Alice Center, part of the University of Vermont Health Network Alice Hyde Medical Center, is seeking a full-time Administrator (RN) for its Assisted Living Program in Malone, NY. The Assisted Living Program (ALP) Administrator duties include:

  • Responsible for overall operation of the ALP and its 30 residents;
  • Establishes and updates  ALP policies and procedures in compliance with NYS DOH regulations;
  • Hires, manages and evaluates employees;
  • Evaluates ALP applicants utilizing the UAS; admits residents based on established policies and procedures;
  • Ensures appropriate quality assurance plan is in place and monitored;
  • Participates in on-call coverage of the ALP along with Director of Patient Care Services.
 
Qualifications:
  • New York State Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Experience in long-term care or Assisted Living operations or services (3 years or more preferred)
  • Management experience (3 years or more preferred)

  • Social Worker provides medical social work services such as psychosocial assessments, counseling to all assigned residents.
  • Social Worker functions as advocate for resident rights.
  • Social Worker provides services in conjunction with federal and state regulations.
  • Social Worker, in conjunction with nursing home team, plans admissions and discharges as assigned.
Qualifications include, but are not limited to:
  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related field, Licensed MSW preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in health care is preferred.
  • Must demonstrate ability to work with adults and geriatric population, understand their specific characteristics.
  • Must possess the ability to assess patient data relative to age specific needs.
  • Experience in long-term care strongly preferred.
  • Possesses good oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrates interpersonal relationships in a manner that enhances communication, promotes conflict resolutions and facilitates staff development.
