Almanzo Wilder Homestead
Almanzo & Laura Ingalls Wilder Association (ALIWA), incorporated June 5, 1987, is a volunteer, historic, educational non-profit organization. The museum/home-stead consists of 84 acres of farmland, woods, restored ORIGINAL post and beam constructed farmhouse (1840-1843), reconstructed post and beam framed barns and outbuildings, a museum/visitor center/research library/ archives/gift shop/ office building complex, orchard, covered picnic pavilion, and nature trail to the Wilder family frontage on the Trout River. This organization and historical site provide an educational opportunity through narrated tours, workshops, artifact museum, demonstrations, nature walk, archival research availability, school tours, and special events (i.e.. Christmas Story Hour, Harvest Festival & craft demonstrations and classes) for children and visitors to experience the period lifestyle of Almanzo Wilder who was born and raised here, 1857-1875. Interpretation of this site is based on the American classic book, Farmer Boy, written by Almanzo's wife, famed author, Laura Ingalls Wilder, as he described his recollections of his life here at this farm to her.
Malone Memorial Recreation Park
An 87-acre entertainment and recreation facility. Fully supervised swimming area, free use of paddle boats from 1 pm - 8 pm. Tennis, handball and basketball courts, soccer/baseball fields, walking trail, picnic pavilions and assorted playground equipment. From mid-September to the first of December, a major migration stop for thousands of Canada geese.
Malone Golf Club
The Malone Golf Club, the finest golf facility in Northern New York, Southern Quebec, and Ontario, has 36 Championship golf holes divided into two great golf courses designed by Robert Trent Jones. The Golf Club was recently awarded four and one half stars by Golf Digest and received the "Good Service" seal for both their East and West Courses.

Whiteface is proud to be located in the 6 million acre Adirondack Forest Preserve. Therefore we have no on mountain condo or village development. We do feature two fantastic historic villages Wilmington and Lake Placid as well as villages throughout the region. Whiteface Mountain is the fifth-highest mountain in New York State, and one of the High Peaks of the Adirondack Mountains. Set apart from most of the other High Peaks, the summit offers a 360-degree view featuring the Adirondacks and perhaps on a clear day glimpses of Vermont and even Canada. Located in the town of Wilmington (about 13 miles from Lake Placid) the mountain is home to a ski area with the highest vertical drop in the eastern United States (3430 feet, or 1,045 m).
Gore Mountain is a ski resort on Gore Mountain in the Adirondack Mountains, located in North Creek, New York. Gore Mountain has 88 trails and 13 lifts (9 chairlifts, a gondola, one j-bar, and a poma lift). Gore mountain has a wide variety of terrain catering to alpine skiers of all levels featuring 10 greens, 37 blues, 9 blacks, 4 double blacks, and 13 glades. Gore also has 12 nordic trails for cross country skiing.

Franklin County House of History Museum
Exhibits of early Franklin County history, including a Victorian parlor and dining room, Vice President Wheeler Memorial Room, craft rooms and an early pioneer room. Genealogical research material available in the Schryer Center located behind the museum.

Lake Placid, Olympic Region
The New York State Olympic Regional Development Authority (ORDA) was created by the State of New York to manage the facilities used during the 1980 Olympic Winter Games at Lake Placid. ORDA operates Whiteface Mountain and Gore Mountain ski areas; the Olympic Sports Complex, located five miles from Lake Placid at Mt. Van Hoevenberg; and the Olympic ice and jumping complexes. The 1000 Islands Region is an international tourism destination, encompassing communities on both sides of the US and Canada border along the St. Lawrence River and the eastern shores of Lake Ontario. The Great Lakes St. Lawrence Seaway System is a deep draft waterway extending 3,700 km (2,340 miles) from the Atlantic Ocean to the head of the Great Lakes, in the heart of North America. Teen Summer Camp - Catholic Summer Camp
Camp Guggenheim is one of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Ogdensburg's summer resident camps for teens! Camp Guggenheim is located on Lower Saranac Lake in the amazing Adirondack Mountains of New York State. The five special sessions at Guggenheim are specially designed for 12-15 year olds, while our famous Week 6 is developed just for 16-18 year olds. We welcome campers each week without regard to race, creed, color or national origin.
